Where It All Began
My name is Aomi, and I live in one of the most picturesque corners of Japan — on the Hokkaido island. Since childhood, I’ve been surrounded by women who took care of themselves, and I saw how Japanese nature and culture nurture the individual. For us, self-care is an inseparable part of life and inner balance. I studied in Europe and have many friends from all over the world. Despite living on a different continent, I share a special bond with them.
My friends often asked me to send them Japanese cosmetics and supplements because they missed what I used in my daily life. Every time the parcels, filled with the scents of Japanese herbs and the delicate textures of creams, reached them, they felt as though a small piece of Japan had found its place in their homes. One day, one of my friends said, “Why don’t you open a store so we can choose and receive everything that brings you this harmony?” These words deeply resonated with me, and I realized that this wasn’t just an idea — it was an opportunity to share a piece of Japan with everyone, to allow people to connect with our traditions, culture, and self-care practices.
Thus, the idea of AOMI was born. For me, AOMI is not just a store. It is my bridge between Japan and the world, a place where everyone can find their own piece of Japanese magic and care.
