Kewpie Corporation>
The company Kewpie was founded in 1919 in Tokyo as Shokuhin Kogyo Co., Ltd. Its founder, Toyoichiro Nakashima, became interested in Western-style food and the taste of mayonnaise after travelling around the United Kingdom and the United States. He wanted to introduce a nutritious and delicious product into Japanese cuisine.
In 1925, KEWPIE mayonnaise was launched under this brand for the first time in Japan. It was a highly nutritious product based on egg yolks, designed to become a true “daily necessity” on Japanese tables.
Over time, the Kewpie brand evolved into Kewpie Corporation and became strongly associated with health and well-being in Japan. Today, it is a major Japanese company that also develops a dedicated line of functional health supplements.
Kewpie supplements are based on
- Scientific research
- Natural ingredients
- Strict Japanese quality standards
That is why Kewpie supplements are positioned in Japan as products for a conscious and balanced lifestyle, rather than as “miracle pills”.
